Fundamental Scale Shapes


There are certain scale shapes used by guitarists, that are considered to be fundamental to any solo, riff, song, etc. Some of them are shown below:

 

C Major

C Major Pentatonic

C Minor Pentatonic

 

Play these scales slowly, hitting every single note as you go. If you miss a note, start from the beginning. Even playing at speeds as low as 10 [bpm] or lower, can be completely normal when learning a new finger scale pattern shape.
